RED ALERT: Possible Star Trek (2009) movie spoiler below. SET CONDITION 1 THROUGHOUT THE BLOG.
Today, MSN.com posted 14 stills from J.J. Abrams' forthcoming Star Trek movie. Perhaps two of them were new (to me), but that isn't what I found curious ... and here's the possible spoiler:
They were posted under the heading "Parallel Universe." Now, I don't know whether this is a standard header that MSN.com uses, but if it isn't, then it may answer a question that many fans have been pondering about Abrams' "reboot" of the Star Trek movie franchise: Does it take place in a parallel universe? The few hints to which I've been exposed suggest that Ambassador Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the Romulan "Nero" (Eric Bana) are at the center of some kind of "transposition" of the Star Trek timeline between the original TV series and this new movie.
We'll find out on 8 May 2009, when the adventure continues ...
